Introduction: Resilience potentially helps people overcome negative experiences and transform these experiences into positive ones. Considering the stressful nature of nursing, resilience is an important factor as a nurse's characteristic for success in this profession.
Methods: In this descriptive-cross-sectional study, 114 nurses working in pediatric and adult emergency rooms of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences hospitals were conducted in 2023. The data collection tool in this study includes two questionnaires of demographic information and resilience of Connor and Davidson. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical tests at a significance level of P<.05.
The mean overall resilience score was 66.4±15.76. According to the average and standard deviation of resilience scores, the clients were divided into three groups with low resilience (score less than 33.3), medium (33.6-3.6) and high resilience (above 66.6). The degree of resilience showed a significant relationship with the variables of work history, gender and marital status (P<0.05(
Conclusion: The results of this study and its comparison with other studies showed that the rate in emergency nurses is relatively low and has decreased in recent years. Considering the lowest level of resilience under the scales of control and spiritual influences, therefore, action in this regard is a priority.
