Introduction: A knowledge-based organization will deal with the existing challenges and will be more successful in the area of competition. In this research, the relationship between knowledge management and creativity is investigated.
Methods: The present study is an applied survey. The statistical population of this study is nurses working in hospitals affiliated with Ilam University of Medical Sciences. The sample size was 187 by Cochran formula. Data were collected from three questionnaires: respondents' demographic information, Lavson knowledge management, and creativity of Dorabjee et al. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by the experts and the internal consistency of the questionnaires was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient.
Results: The average scores were 3.17 and 2.98 for knowledge management and creativity respectively, showing that nurses had a moderate level of creativity and knowledge management. Pearson test results showed a direct and significant relationship between knowledge management and its components with creativity. Among knowledge management components, knowledge application had the greatest correlation with nurses' creativity.
Conclusion: Nurses working in hospitals affiliated to Ilam University of Medical Sciences may use knowledge management as a conscious strategy for identification, assessment, organization, storage and use of knowledge. They can also use knowledge management to boost creativity in their hospitals.
