Introduction: Adhering to the principles of professional ethics and paying attention to the laws and regulations of the medical profession and patients' rights are prerequisites for providing dental services. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the level of ethical skills of dentists in Kashan in 2019.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 123 dentists in Kashan city. The data collection tool was the ethical skills questionnaire, which was Champs. The data were analyzed and reviewed using SPSS17 software.
Results:  The mean and standard deviation of the overall score of ethical skills of Kashan's dentists were obtained 16.03 and in four sub-domains of sensitivity were achieved 5.12, reasoning 2.73, solidarity 3.69 and courage 4.44. Furthermore, this study demonstrated that in four sub-domains of sensitivity, the mean score in women was significantly higher than men. The sensitivity score of faculty dentists was significantly higher than non- faculty dentists. Sub-domain ethical courage of non-faculty dentists was significantly but not meaningfully more than faculty dentists (p=0.006). The dentists who worked in clinic their quantitative score of their ethical skill was significantly lower than the other two groups and the total score of dentists' ethical skill decreased by increasing work record and the number of work shifts in a week and declining the number of patients in a work day
Conclusion: Continuous and periodic training of dentists from the first years of study and after graduation is necessary to improve the level of moral skills of dentists.
