Objective: One of the useful and preliminary tools for examining the job satisfaction of doctors is a questionnaire, and designing a questionnaire suitable to the surrounding cultural and social conditions of doctors can help in this matter.
Methods & Materials: The present study was conducted in two stages in 2022. The first stage was conducted as a qualitative study with the content analysis approach, during which the factors related to the job satisfaction of doctors were measured. In order to ensure the completeness and correctness of the questionnaire, the questionnaire was read and reviewed several times by the research team, and if necessary, the opinions of medical experts were used to reduce the items. In the second stage, face validity, content and construct validity were conducted in a cross-sectional descriptive study with exploratory factor analysis method with the participation of 56 emergency medicine specialists.
Results: This study was conducted on 56 participants. 75 items were extracted from qualitative content analysis and the use of related scientific texts. After performing face and content validity (qualitative and quantitative), 7 items were modified. The construct validity of the questionnaire through exploratory factor analysis led to the creation of 5 factors including salary, working conditions and environment, promotions, colleagues and the role of the supervisor.
Conclusion: The job satisfaction questionnaire of emergency medicine specialists has features such as reliability and validity; Simple scoring and easy application by doctors is suitable and its use is recommended.
