Introduction: the aim of the present study was to evaluate the external quality of the educational content of the cardiovascular diseases department of the medical field (internship and training section) from the perspective of general practitioners working in Birjand city.
Methods: This study was of a descriptive-analytical type. The study population was all general practitioners working in clinics, health centers, hospitals and private offices in Birjand city (86 people) in 1402. Based on the Krejci and Morgan table, a sample of 70 people was estimated and selected by random sampling method. A researcher-made questionnaire with 26 questions was used to collect data. Data were entered into IBM SPSS Statistics version 22 software and one-sample t-test was used for analysis.
Results: 70 general practitioners with a mean age of 29.93 ± 2.56 years participated in this study. The average score of the quality of educational content (systemic hypertension, arrhythmia and ECG, coronary artery disease, clinical manifestations of cardiovascular diseases, pharmacology of cardiovascular diseases, hypotension and syncope, paraclinical in cardiovascular diseases, physical examination of cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerotic diseases, heart failure, acute and corpulmonary shock, venous diseases, arterial diseases, cardiovascular anatomy, myocardial and pulmonary hypertension diseases) from the perspective of general practitioners (p<0.05(
conclusion: quality of educational content in the cardiovascular department had a moderate external quality. Therefore, the educational content of this department should be reviewed so that it can transfer and generalize the necessary skills and abilities and theoretical knowledge in this field to the practical and applied situations of physicians.
