Introduction: Although bioethics professionals and institutions have long provided individual ethical consultations, research ethics consultation is still a relatively new concept as an institutionalized service and is mainly limited to consultations for clinical researchers. Methodology: This study was a qualitative content analysis type using the conventional (contractual) method. The sampling method in this study was purposive so that among the active researchers at Jahrom University of Medical Sciences, those who had experience receiving consultations were interviewed, and sampling continued until the data and categories were complete and reached saturation, and the researchers also reached saturation.
Results: In this study, interviews were conducted with 10 researchers who met the inclusion criteria. A total of 38 non-repeating initial codes were extracted and categorized into 3 main themes (advice areas, effectiveness and quality of advice, and advice barriers) and 16 subcategories.
Conclusion: The findings of this study, while confirming the importance of ethics advice in research and the willingness of researchers to receive this type of advice in various forms, pointed to the areas of advice as opportunities for institutionalizing ethics in research, including the process of evaluating and approving research plans, in the form of promotional programs and training workshops.
