Abstract:   (1047 Views)
Background and Objective: Competency-based medical education (CBME) is an approach to medical education that focuses on developing specific competencies instead of traditional time-based education.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted on various Persian and international databases to identify studies published between 2017 and 2024 that focused on CBME in anesthesia in Iran.
Result: Ten studies with a sample size of 1162 participants were included in the review. Studies in this field are very new and have started in Iran since 2017. These studies were classified into three topics: evaluating the effectiveness of educational interventions on clinical competence/competence in anesthesia, identifying factors related to clinical competence, and investigating the relationship between non-technical skills and clinical competence in anesthesia.
Conclusion: Very limited studies have been published in this area. However, this systematic review provides new evidence on the importance of integrating educational interventions, assessments, and competency-based training to promote clinical competence in anesthesia in Iran.
