مقدمه و هدف: بهداشت روان، بخشی جدایی ناپذیر از بهداشت عمومی است که فرد را از عناصر شناختی، عاطفی و همچنین از توانایی‌های خود در ایجاد رابطه با دیگران آگاه می‌گرداند. انسان با داشتن تعادل روانی، بهتر می‌تواند بر تنیدگی‌ها و فشارهای زندگی فائق آمده و فردی مفید برای جامعه باشد. هدف این پژوهش بررسی رابطه کمال‌گرایی و اهمالکاری و تعیین نقش پیش‌بینی‌کنندگی این دو متغیر در سلامت روان دانشجویان می‌باشد.
روش ها: روش انجام این پژوهش با توجه به هدف و ماهیت موضوع توصیفی از نوع همبستگی می‌باشد. جامعه آماری پژوهش شامل دانشجویان پزشکی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی هرمزگان است که اعضای نمونه آماری به روش نمونه‌گیری تصادفی طبقه‌بندی شده از میان دانشجویان سالهای مختلف پزشکی انتخاب گردید. حجم نمونه بدست آمده برای این پژوهش با توجه به فرمول کوکران 212 نفر بود که از بین آنها 181 نفر پرسشنامه را تکمیل کردند. به منظور گردآوری اطلاعات مورد نیاز از پرسشنامه‌های سلامت روان، پرسشنامه کمال‌گرایی و پرسشنامه اهمالکاری استفاده شد. برای تحلیل داده‌ها روشهای آماری رگرسیون چند گانه و ضریب همبستگی پیرسون به کار گرفته شد.
یافته‌ها: یافته‌ها نشان داد رابطه معناداری بین خرده مقیاسهای اهمال کاری شامل بعد آمادگی برای امتحان، آمادگی برای مقاله و آمادگی برای مقابله با تمرکز و خرده مقیاسهای کمال گرایی شامل تمرکز بر اشتباهات، نظم و سازماندهی، ادراک فشار از سوی والدین، هدفمندی و نشخوار فکر با سلامت روان دانشجویان وجود دارد.
نتیجه گیری: می‌توان گفت که بین کمال‌گرایی و سلامت روانی از یک سو و اهمال‌کاری و سلامت روانی از سوی دیگر همبستگی و ارتباط وجود دارد.
