This study investigated the attitudes of nurses working in educational hospitals of Bandar Abbas University of Medical Sciences toward the elderly in 2017. Methods: This was a descriptive-analytic cross-sectional study conducted in 2017 in Bandar Abbas educational hospitals on 82 nurses selected randomly. The data was collected through interviews and using a questionnaire. The research instrument used in this study was a demographic information questionnaire and Kogan attitude questionnaire for the elderly. The data was analyzed by SPSS software version 16. Results: The results showed that 51.2% of the nurses were above average and 48.8% lower than the overall average score. According to the findings, the highest percentage of positive attitude (39%) was in the age range of 30-35 and the lowest was in the age range of 40-45 years. Women were more likely to have a positive attitude toward the elderly than men and there was a correlation between the educational level and positive attitudes toward the elderly (P≤0.05). Conclusion: According to the results, the attitude of most nurses was positive toward elderly, variables such as age, sex and educational level were correlated with nurses' attitudes, and there was also a correlation between the passing of training programs of elderly care and positive attitude of nurses.
