Introduction: The present study aimed at Meta evaluation the mechanism of faculty members’ teaching quality evaluation based on educational documentation in Shahid Sadougi University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This was a developmental study, carried out based on Stufflebeam's meta-evaluation approach, in four dimensions, including utility (n=7), feasibility (n=3), propriety (n=8) and accuracy (n=12).
Results: Meta-evaluation indicated that the highest total score belonged to the "accuracy" standard (45) and the lowest was that of the "feasibility". Also, the percentage of meta-evaluation power in the two standards "accuracy" (93.75%) and "utility" (85.5%) was evaluated at the highest level, and the percentage of power in the "feasibility" standard (58.3%) was at the lowest level. The percentage of meta-evaluation power in the standard of "propriety" (74.2%) was evaluated at a very good level.
Conclusion: The current results showed that faculty members’ evaluation by educational documents was recognized as a proper approach for teacher evaluation. It seems that applying this mechanism can help accurate and appropriate evaluation, besides following ethical and practical criteria for the promotion of teacher evaluation systems.
